Please tell us more about The Life Daytime Talk Show.
The Life Daytime Talk Show is a web show centered around three beautiful co-hosts: Tanesha Craig-Stewart, Patricia Whitfield, and Lisa Cook. These amazingly talented and accomplished women came together to connect our city and our world by sharing our own life experiences. The show encourages viewers to be better versions of themselves, through motivation and self-empowerment. The show also discusses trending news topics, where each host shares their thoughts and opinions on things that matter most.
Did you always know that this is what you wanted to do? Or was there a turning point that led you to start this show?
I am a multi-passionate individual so there are many things I wish to accomplish in my lifetime. I love media and graphic design and use it in many avenues, including my everyday business Adore Her Beauty Makeup Studio & Spa.
The Life Daytime was birthed out of my love for media. We see so many great shows on television and online, yet none are really within our grasp. I wanted to create something for us and by us — everyday people — that promotes unity, community, empowerment, and being the best version of ourselves.
How do you stay inspired?
As the writer and producer of The Life Daytime Talk Show, I get inspiration by looking at the world around me. Our set manager, the show's co-hosts, and I all collaborate on show ideas. We pull inspiration from trending news as well as our personal lives. We believe this is the best way to stay connected with our viewers.
Has it been a relatively smooth road? If not, what were some of the struggles you’ve faced along the way?
There is beauty in the process and there is beauty in growth. We often want to be at the finish line when the end is in sight, but there is a whole in-between that's usually overlooked. I've learned that this part, the road you take to get to the finish line, is the best part; this is what makes us who we are. We've created this awesome talk show with no formal training, and while we have had a few bumps along the way — from stage presence to audio — we're evolving at a pace I'm happy with and it will only continue to get better!
What are you most proud of so far?
I am most proud of our team, our staff, and our co-hosts. They have taken the vision and run with it. I'm also proud that our "bottom" is at such a quality level. It gives hope of what it will look like when we get to the top.
Is there anyone, from the past or present, you wish you could interview? Or have you already worked with that person?
Personally, I would love to have Cardi B on the show! I think she is super fun and hilarious and that's what the show is about for me — energy, great laughs, being authentic and unashamed. I think Cardi embodies all of that! I can see her playing a few games with our co-hosts, cracking some jokes, doing silly dances, a few crazy challenges, and even giving some motivation to viewers. I also asked the co-hosts who they'd like to interview. Tanesha said Michelle Obama, Patricia said Oprah, and Lisa said Nelson Mandela — as a person from the past. This is what I love most about our collaborative flow. We each bring something different to the table and that’s why we're able to reach an audience from all different backgrounds and walks of life.
What does “success” look like to you?
Considering where we're at now and understanding realistically how growth works, success would be the show fully funding itself and receiving brand sponsorship. The dreamer in me would love for The Life Daytime Talk Show to be picked up by a network and become a nationally broadcasted television show!
What can we expect next?
We've had fill-in hosts for our Father's Day episode, but we've yet to have our first official guest. So that's coming soon. Viewers can expect segments outside of the studio and watch the co-hosts connect with members of the community. And we will most definitely be working on getting a new studio location with a live studio audience for an authentic talk show experience!
